Steven G. Mlenak, a leader of the firm’s Community Association practice, will be a panelist for the event “2026 Learn with LAC,” to be hosted by the Community Associations Institute – New Jersey Chapter (CAI-NJ) on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 10:30am- 1:30pm.
The Legislative Action Committee (LAC) panel at this event will discuss New Jersey’s new Reserve Funding Law (S3992), including how to achieve compliance, key issues and risks, and effective funding strategies. The session will also address the impact of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac project qualification requirements on reserve funding and insurance, and what these changes mean for community associations going forward.
Steve is Immediate Past President and a current board member of CAI-NJ. His community association law practice provides strategic guidance and general counseling to condominium and homeowners association clients across a broad range of legal issues. He supports common interest communities throughout New Jersey in the interpretation and amendment of governing documents and by-laws, drafting contracts, the collection of delinquent assessments, the enforcement of rules and regulations, operational and maintenance issues, the fiduciary responsibilities of board members, transition negotiations and litigation, and Municipal Services Act compliance.
