Event Sponsor: New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education

Online

11:00am – 2:00pm

Maja M. Obradovic, Co-Chair of the firm’s Employment Law practice, will be a presenter for an online presentation “Why Civility Wins,” hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Education (NJICLE) in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

In labor and employment law, professionalism isn’t just etiquette—it’s a strategic advantage. The way attorneys communicate with judges, juries, opposing counsel, and mediators can directly shape credibility, influence negotiations, and ultimately impact client outcomes.

Topics include:

  • How demeanor and tone affect interactions with judges, juries, adversaries, and mediators
  • Practical strategies for maintaining composure and professionalism in high-conflict situations
  • Ethical obligations under the Rules of Professional Conduct and their role in effective advocacy

Maja concentrates her practice primarily in the representation of public and private employers in employment related disputes at both the state and federal level, representing clients in the defense of employment claims under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD), the Conscientious-Employee Protection Act (CEPA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). She also provides strategic employment counseling services to management and human resources professionals, advising on workplace policies and day-to-day issues and conducting internal employment-related investigations and independent workplace investigations of claims made against her corporate clients or their employees.
